Bilateral drawing is making marks with both hands at the same time. The focus is on the spontaneous movement of the hands and the marks made. The left and right stimulation can have a grounding and calming effect. There is no right or wrong, there is no need to create a particular image, there are just traces on paper. Noticing how it feels to use both hands at the same time brings a shift where the body and making spontaneous traces in your own rhythm are the main focus. Soft art materials like pastels can be used but biros are fine with a different colour each and it might be easier to attach the paper to keep it in place.
